Amanda is a Montana native, who grew up spending much of her free time in the outdoors. Surrounding herself with nature and bonding with animals is where she felt most at home. When not making mud pies or rescuing bugs, she could be found drawing or writing. In 2010, she moved to Washington state with her young daughter, to continue her education and chase her dreams outside of Montana. Graduating from college for a second time with a degree in Applied Science, she worked as a mortician in the Seattle area. She continued to live in Washington, where she also met her husband, raising her daughter and enjoying time with her rescue pups. In 2014, after watching several documentaries, she finally decided to live aligned with her morals and beliefs and went vegan overnight. She delved deeply into the world of Veganism, reading and watching anything related. She spent her time volunteering at a local animal sanctuary, holding vegan get-togethers in her home for friends and family, and experimenting with vegan cooking. In 2021, she relocated her family to Arizona to enjoy sunnier days, and founded Vegan in the Valley.
